Devon
Devon has a lower level of engagement and outward response to stimuli than many of her peers in the Kiwanis House. Sitting with her, talking to her, singing to her, and playing music are all good ways to try to engage and interact with her. It would also be good for her to be present in reading groups, even though she may not fully comprehend the story. She can also benefit from being wheeled around the grounds and be stimulated by new environments, as she usually stays on the Kiwanis House porch. Light touch and gentle stretching while in her wheelchair is also good for her. She is bottle fed and has difficulty swallowing so care and patience must be taken. If you are having difficulty feeding Devon, just ask the staff for assistance.
