Tenil

Tenil fluctuates between moments of lucidity when she really desires connection and affection; and moments of confusion and distress when it is best to give her space to calm down. She can hurt herself and others when she is upset, so she usually stays on the porch of the Viera House under the watchful eyes of the staff. Tenil does not use words, so she tends to get people’s attention through grabbing or rushing into a sudden hug. This can be startling to an unsuspecting visitor. It is best to ask staff for assistance in approaching and engaging with Tenil. They are very adept at reading her, interpreting her moods and behaviors, and providing suggestions. Sometimes interaction agitates her and sometimes it calms her down, and their expertise is invaluable.
