Shantal

Shantal is a dynamo! She is charismatic, curious, assertive, independent, proud, and demanding of attention. She is very helpful to staff and is often given tasks to do. Shantal absolutely shines when showered with hugs and attention. She loves taking walks, getting pampered, and dressing up. She has a jealous streak a mile wide, however, and does not respond with grace when she is not in the center of it all. When Shantal gets jealous she tends to stomp off and yell. It is best to ignore her when she behaves poorly and to re-invite her to join the activity or talk to her once she has cooled herself down a bit. The staff are very helpful to visitors in interpreting Shantal’s behavior when she becomes belligerent and intervening to help her calm down. The good news is that Shantal is quite resilient and can return quite quickly to a positive mood once she has blown off some steam.
